Pill swallowing can be a difficult skill to learn for kids and adults. In this short video tutorial, a child psychologist from the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital shares helpful tips for teaching your child how to swallow pills.

My three year old needed to take liquid penicillin 3x a day for 10 days. It was so horrible trying to get her to take it. Tried to find a video to teach her how to just swallow the pill and came across this video! Now she can swallow the pills instead and we aren’t battling her 3 times a day. She feels so proud of herself too.

My 6-year-old just started having to take a pill for the first time the other day. It takes a few trees, she has two different medications that she has to take and by the time we get to the second one she's drinking so much water that her belly hurts. I feel so terrible and I try to get it in the back of her mouth as far as I can but it keeps sticking and oh my God today we were not successful with the second because it was a time-release capsule and it melted before we could get it down our throat I was too afraid to give it to her.
