Fundamental Theorem for Line Integrals :: Conservative Vector Field Line Integral

Here we use the fundamental theorem for line integrals to evaluate the line integral of the vector field

F(x,y) = (3+2xy^2)i + (2x^2y) j

along the curve C which is the part of the hyperbola y=1/x from (1,1) to (4,1/4).

The key here is that for a conservative vector field (F = grad(f)) the integral is path independent. Thus, all we need to do is evaluate the potential function at the end point and subtract the potential function evaluated at the starting point.
