The best proof of the quality is that I watched the whole Apple presentation without a single thought of "wait, it's recorded on a phone?"

In my opinion the behind the scenes video was much more interesting when I saw it than the actual apple event.

While this won’t nominate the iPhone for an Oscar…at this point, it will make serious filmmakers think of it a bit longer and harder as a B roll and possibly primary camera for paid projects. It also puts more pressure on Apple to push the envelope more on the iPhone 16 line.

Thanks for sharing man! Shows that lighting is key (pun intended lol)!

I can't belive they actually released a Behind the Scenes video, I DREAMED about it everytime we had a keynote. Actually, I though at least 80% of the sets were digital, because everything is just 'too perfect', but it was not CGI scenaries, it was only art direction and a very beautiful location, the Apple Park. The fact that they made these beautiful shots with iPhone turns into even more impressive — which is not reference for indie filmmakers since they were using probably $500k in extra gear LMAO

Great job on the video. I'm really impressed that you know all this gear and can recognize it. I just finished a documentary film and had to use my iPhone 12 pro on a couple of scenes. It worked out beautifully. I'm definitely gonna jump to the new iPhone.

This a good reminder that the camera is a tool at the end of the day. One of the main important things is proper lighting. Definitely, motivating see technology push the limit of small devices

I was flabbergasted after seeing the tagline saying it was shot on an iPhone. Even though they used very expensive accessories, it is impressive. I also love they released a BTS so fast. It’s public again BTW.

The drone they used is called a Cinelifter. It’s an X8 FPV quad. Nice review!

Noticed they didn't use "cinematic" mode to shoot such a cinematic keynote. Probably a codec restriction?

Can't believe this guy just shows the official BTS footage apple released and say it's "rare"

Nice catch on the Premiere Pro usage. I totally missed this (video is on the Apple website btw) b/c I watched it on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and wasn’t looking for it but that is indeed a choice. I would argue the correct choice given where FCPX is today compared to the competition, but it is a choice nonetheless.

Using 50000$ light to make a 1500$ phone camera look good😂

Apple needs to release their own cinema camera using their own silicon and software tech. Could you imagine…..

They just reupload it. I think they added the extra software and hardware disclaim you mentioned. With special thanks to Beastgrip and BlackMagic

First thought: totally hilarious that they used these massive insanely huge camera rigs to fly little ol' iPhones 😂 Next thought: WOW! The footage was really amazing throughout the whole event and I never once thought it was shot on the iPhone. Clearly that internal ProRes 4444 capability is really paying off. And last thought: pretty interesting that they are clearly showing off Blackmagic tools in the BTS footage. Makes you wonder if the inane "rivalry" or whatever you want to call it between Apple and Blackmagic is maybe coming to an end? 🤔
