The Absolute Worst Dinosaur You Could Get Caught By

We usually think that dinosaurs, namely theropods, are scary based off of how big they were. And while this can be true to an extent, size can sometimes be deceitful, as there was a secretive family of theropods that once existed, which proved that sometimes its not really the big ones you need to fear.

Indoraptor:Exists.
Megaraptors:Look what they need to mimic a fraction of our power.

The fact this cool group of dinosaurs are also the longest in terms of existence is both very impressive and scary

I love megaraptorans so much, and Maip will always and forever be my favourite dinosaur. “The shadow of death that kills with the cold wind” goes so hard

I honestly love Maip Macrothroax’s names meaning: The Shadow of Death That Kills With Cold Wind. It’s right up there in badass dinosaur names like Dreadnoughtus (Fears Nothing) & Saurophaganax (Lord of the Lizard Eaters).

I can imagine tyrannosaurus getting professional help to treat his insecurity. "Look at the size of my arms. I don't think I'm a true raptor!"

Megaraptorans were simply real life Night feeder from Primal

I was about to say that comparing the megaraptor family's longevity to dinosaurs who were ended by the Chicxulub impact was unfair until you revealed that they too only died because of the same event. So they really did find a working niche at the end of the Jurassic and stuck with it through the entire next geologic epoch. Impressive!

“A fitting animal for a country well known for its messed up wildlife”.

Yes, we have strange wildlife and yes we really had some messed up wildlife (as highlighted by an earlier ExtinctZoo video on Australia).

Based of the fact that they only got more dangerous over time just Imagine how scary they could have gotten if the asteroid didn't happen

Hi ExtinctZoo, my name is Domiziano and I'm Italian🇮🇹 I've been watching your videos for a while and I'll tell you that THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! I like that you talk about extinct animal species and explain their biology and habits. I'm a big fan of animal biology, both living and extinct, and I'm happy you talked about these amazing theropod dinosaurs😁

As an Argentine myself, I'm proud and thrilled by the sooth that my homeland hath the world's greatest megaraptorans (a soothly gripping and dreadening clade), the world's greatest dinosaurs ever (Argentinosaurus and so forth), and many other one of a kind dinosaurs! 🎉😮

It's trippy to me to think of them and how life would be if animals like that were around today. Hunting, fishing, hiking in the wilderness you need to think about local mega fauna and act accordingly. Are there grizzlies? Bring spray and a side arm. Rattle snakes? Wear boots and tread cautiously.

Imagine going for a hike to a brook trout hole and you gotta be like "make sure you store your fish in a scent proof container so you don't attract a mega raptor to hunt you" 😮

So basically this was similar to a heron with hands? Herons often impale and swallow their prey while it is still alive

Another amazing video as always. The way this video opened is how I would ideally have you open a video talking about the highly underrated documentary style show The Future is Wild. It answered the question of what would life look like hundreads of years in the future look like. And although the first version of the show was made and shown in 2002, the thoughts behind what animals would survive and what traits they would adapt from their ancestors are a great thought experiment. Please Mr ExtinctZoo, we would love to see you do a video comparing some of the animals from this series and talking about them. Also I would love to see a video talking about the American Cheetah, Jagurars, and Cougar. Keep up the great work.

The Maip is probably what inspired the The Night Feeder in Genndy Tartakovsky's Primal.
