I have been above the Arctic circle. Little Cornwallace...it does not point north...it is a north seeking pole....and thet pointer was to the south magnetic pole shifts within an oval. For all the info you are relating...it is a tool but should be understood. My compass reading is different in Mexico city or london, or Dawson Yukon. Thankyou
