Transformers Prime was one hell of a good series, arguably the best Transformers show of all, and im an 80's kid that grew up on G1, my favorite cartoon back then. The fact that Prime aired on a channel who's main target audience was children, it actually had quite the mature, dark, even brutal tone. I mean just in the first maybe 6 or 7 minutes if the premiere episode, Cliffjumper was overwhelmingly outnumbered, beat down, blown up, dragged onto the Nemisis, then savagely murdered by Starscream by his razor sharp finger claws to the What a way to set the tone.
The 30 minute episodes were a hindrance on story i think as well. Another channel that had the budget and a bit older audience, like teens to young adults, and hour long episodes, is the only thing that would have let this masterpiece show be more, in both story, and action. Not to say it wasn't already that, but the 30 minute episodes just weren't enough for most of the shows 3 season run, nor was only 3 seasons either.
