Honestly, even if it were an "easy way out, " who cares? This kind of thing is a last-ditch attempt to improve someone's quality of life or even save their life. No one should be shamed for not wanting to die.

I had a sleeve almost a month ago, and when the doctor said, “it is not the easy way out” believe her

Thank you, Dr Ashton for saying it's not a "quick fix" or the "easy way out"! It certainly is NOT easy, all the weight doesnt just fall off...one still has to eat right and exercise to even lose the weight, and it still takes a LIFETIME of changed eating habits and regular exercising to even keep or maintain.

Go bypass, too many people have to have more surgery from sleeve to bypass as they regain and have complications with their sleeves as it ages.

Endoscopic procedure is much safer than the surgery. Fundus ablation now makes it equally effective.

It's definitely NOT the easy way out. Just to get approved takes months of all kinds of appointments, documentation, & seeing different people (psychologist, Nutritionist, Primary Care Provider & so forth) to even get the surgery! You have to jump through what feels like endless hoops, just so your insurance will cover it. *AND THEN* when you finally get approved, and your journey starts, you still have to diet & workout! The surgery helps, but it's not gonna work nearly as good (and it will not last long) if you fall back into crappy habits. Your surgery will have been for NOTHING, if you stretch your stomach back out, over-eating! And not eating healthy!
So Im glad this doctor mentioned it's not an easy way out. The whole process is a pain in the @SS, and you have to be willing to forever change how you eat.
Not to mention the emotional & mental toll it takes on you, afterwards, when the surgery is done! You cant eat like before. Not just cuz you might throw up, due to a small stomach.
But you see everyone else around you (at home, family) eating badly! They pig out on junk, with zero regard for you. Making you crave the junk they get to have... But you can't! It takes willpower!

Neither of them I’m day 19 and it’s still not making me feel better about it. I was told it was because I haven’t had food which they didn’t know I had and I still felt like screw this. I can’t go with family and I don’t even eat as much as my daughter now. I would rather have all my issues back and talked to a doctor I was 390 the day of surgery I lose weight pretty fast. I mainly wanted my hernia fixed and was told they couldn’t at the size Iam. I wish I had worked off the weight then just had the hernia fixed. Because either way I have to wait a year now to have it fixed.

Is the potato-only diet as effective as gastric bypass surgeryg?

Sounds good huh? Until you notice vitamin deficiency and other problems. Best way is to learn how to eat and loose weight the natural way. Something to be proud of.

Just dont eat too much each day and thats that.

I mean you could save a shit load of money just going to the gym instead of surgery to lose weight
