Just a quick video showing a Cold Steel Viking Hand Axe that I just picked up... This really isn't a review or a preview, just a show and tell. The axe is made in Taiwan from 1055 carbon steel and is labeled "American Tomahawk Company."

If you liked this video you can see more like it here:

I have one suggestion.  Strip the greyish coating off with Klean-Strip KS3 Premium stripper.  rinse well and degrease it, then give it a patina with 50/50 apple cider vinegar and Birchwood Casey Perma Blue.  Soak it for about 15 minutes, take it out and rinse it and dry it, repeat that until you have the patina you like.  Wipe it with mineral oil and you're good to go.

Yeah yeah, we're going to get vids of you changing the handle, making a sheath, blah blah... but do we get any vids of you bezerking(?) in suburban woodland? That's what the people want son.

I am typing this, holding my axe in my lap. I bought the same axe off amazon.

A lot of the reviews of the product, and I checked because the Taiwan stamp and American tomahawk sticker scared me,
A lot of the reviews said something to the effect of "this is a Taiwan ripoff of cold steel. Do not buy!"

I checked my axe against the cold steel speciation On their website and it checked out. So my question for you is, are you sure your/our axes are actually cold steel?

Also, to fix the lose head, I was thinking of submerging it in water to let the wood warp, like how you fix a loose hammer. ... Would that rust the blade out too, in that amount of time? I plan on sharpening tomorrow and I have been taught to soak the blade before sharpening too, so... Is that safe without damaging my new toy?

Thanks mate!
