Dude this is sooo true. I see dudes do this entire plyo progression, starting with depth landings off a 24” box, but then go on to play 2 hours of basketball the same day. It’s as if the weight room/performance side is completely separate from the sports stressors you experience. It’s so stupid. They’re already jumping 1000+ a week from all the basketball they’re playing. Wtf is the point of progressing plyos for “safety” purposes. I’m glad somebody gets it!

I get your point for kids and athletes, but I work with (and I am) gen pop, and I really need to ease them back into this stuff carefully.

Yea thought this myself when I started reading into plyo stuff. Just did some "advanced" stuff right away and just wondered what I need to progress to. Just do an hour of learning how to land (if u're not able to) before the first session and u're fine I'd say

wow, this is so interesting n such a great perspective because i am a kin major and according to the evidence my prof taught at the time in a course called sport performance. Something like Air Alert shouldnt work according to his theories

and yet it is super popular and full of success stories and thaat program in particular progresses on exactly what you mentioned - volume

HABITUAL JUMP TRAINING they call it

only downside is the other thing u mentioned - injury. well obviously 12 weeks isnt enough time for a sedentary person to doing 1000 jump workouts

i LOVE the subject of kin btw - do you have a sport science related background ?
