Courtesy of a then socially awkward and disordered noob/idiot with a passion for railroading.

I know some things I said were a little bit silly or foolish, and I was also a noob at ranking most of the stuff and researching, not to mention that I recorded all of this with no script.
But after all this was my first ever railfan production video and I didn’t know fully what I was doing during production.

At this point I won’t be surprised if I ever remake this video with better ranking and a written script in the future.

Pretty much my most nooby transition to a new trend ever.

Until dieselization commenced on American railroads in the 1950s, finishing by the 1962, steam locomotives were common and thrilling sights for railfans of all ages. Even beyond the days of steam, there are still a lot steam locomotives remaining in America. But some classes were not so lucky. As we all know, we can't preserve everything in our world and some classes of steam locomotives don't exist anymore, which is exactly what this video is about.
Ounce ruling east or west, north and south, and ranging sizes from small to large, here is my list of 10 extinct classes of American steam locomotives.

Hey, you right. One of the Santa Fe 2-8-4s should be preserved so that we could see one of them working excursions along the previous preserved 2-8-4s running excursions today.

the B&M also sold 10 of their berkshires to the SP, so technically the ATSF wasnt the only western railroad to have a berkshire

The K3's of which I have a model of due to their lesser driving wheel sizes had counterbalancing issues and were limited to 35 mph since anything higher would've raised havoc on the rails. They also rode hard and not very comfortable to ride on either. Interestingly, in 1955 there was a diagram book of what would've been an N Class 4-8-4. The design was a mating of the K3 boiler with a new larger grate of 100.1 sq ft.

When I have a railroad business I would love to buy the rebuilt Santa Fe steam locomotives. If you asked me.

You know how about if you made a Top 10(or 5)Excticnct diesel locomoitves (The choice will be smaller and compared to steam there are no big loses in diesel.)Of the top of my head id put Alco Dl-109(Still dont understand why they got a comparetively short service life especially on NH which had 60!, F2 no all that notworthy but it was a f unit, Fm erie built an great engine that was messed up by erie and so ruined its chances at being saved, U50 only 2nd or 3rd gen diesel because of its admirable power ok performance as well as its unique looks why didnt up save one?becuase of the U50c likely, BLW (AS WELL AS ALL BABYFACES)DR 6S FOR UNIQENESS AND DESING.)Others POSSIBLY AS HONORABLE MENTIONS:EMD DD35, TA, E1, E2, E4, BLW DR 4-4-15,

i believe the eire and virginnian triplexes produced a little more tractive effort than the Y6B's but they performed really bad in service.
