Hey viewers and enthusiasts, quick question for you. I've had my strut reinforcement plates on the top side of my tower for years now, and have noticed them many times on other cars. Where is best to put them? Please let me know where you have yours/or think is best in the comments below.

240 Crew Welcome to a sunny Monday. Before I start on doing the front suspension refresh quick question....Where do you have your reinforcement plates? Top Side or Bottom Side of the tower?

safely absorb additional stress. These plates also work well to shore up a tower that may have a bit of corrosion. Plates mount between the body and upper strut bushing. Easily installed when adding springs or replacing just

Hi, I have a couple sets that I have yet to install but I am pretty sure you want them on the bottom side. Thanks and keep up with your videos.

unless you weld it to the strut tower, the plate should go to the bottom of the tower, its mission is to distrubute the load on a greater surface avoiding punching thru the tower top when using stiff springs and dampers.

Apparently 'bottom' is winning. I can't do any of this because although I can import most of spare parts and accessories, safety related items are forbidden according to Argentina's law. And 'safety' is interpreted in a very wide and odd way, you can't import safety belts, brakes ... but you can't import either bulbs and wipers LOL. Regards, Nacho.

Wow cool I had no idea I would cause such a conundrum. Sorry! ;-)
Contact IPD where you bought them. I had the same question years ago when I had my last 240 (because I seen people doing it both ways) and they told me that you can do it either way, but since they are designed to reinforce the strut tower, they work best at the bottom.

I know visually they would look better hidden. But that is just my opinion. Not much of a car man here.
