This is my last year studying the MYP course, going to Pre-DP next year. These videos are helping me a lot and actually preparing me for IBDP. I am actually in fact quite talented in literary analysis. However, One thing that challenges me the most is the comparative analysis. I actually do in fact have one question to ask since I have to submit this assignment soon (like very soon)

Is it allowed to have 2 similar points and 1 different points, which adds up in total 3 points

ie,
(similar)point 1-article 1
point 1-article 2

(similar)point 2-article 1
point 2-article 1

(different)point 3-article 1
point 3-article 1

OR do they have to be equal (ie, two similar points and two different points, which adds up in total 4 points)

is it necessary or highly recommended to have 3 thesis points? personally i tend to make 2 thesis points which are a bit less specific and then go into more details, so the paragraphs usually end up being longer to compensate

In body paragraphs, is it better to analyse more examples supporting a single paragraph idea in less detail to show breadth of understanding, or less examples in more detail to potentially show nuanced interpretation?

Do you encourage your students to only write separate paragraphs focusing on each work (of course while comparing), or also try to write paragraphs that address both works within a single paragraph?

Let's say I follow your structure of 1 paragraph for text A and 1 for text B, that's 2 paragraphs for one main idea. How many of these paragraphs should I ideally be aiming for in an exam setting? Do you think six of these full length paragraphs is realistic in 105 mins?

Why do you mention both texts in the topic sentence of your first paragraph if you only analyse Text A?
