PLANET 9:Could There Be More Planets In Our Solar System?

preview_player
Показать описание
Planet 9 is a hypothetical planet larger than Earth, far beyond Neptune's orbit, in the darkest and farthest corners of the solar system, but could there be such a giant planet in our solar system that we haven't yet discovered? How could such a big planet hide from our most powerful telescopes?
The idea that there is a ninth planet in our solar system is nothing new; since 1906, the astronomer Percival Lowell proposed the idea that beyond the orbits of Neptune, there was a ninth planet that disturbed the orbits of the gas giants Uranus and Neptune, which he called "Planet X."

Although for many astronomers the anomalies in the orbits of the outermost gas giant planets of the solar system could be explained without the need to invent any ninth planet, other astronomers supported the idea, since in the past it had been shown that the anomalies of the Planet Uranus were due to an eighth planet not yet discovered, this Planet ended up being Neptune.

Finding Planet 9 is like finding a needle in a haystack, dropped into the Pacific ocean, surrounded by killer white sharks.

Can't wait till Planet 9 is found! Let's wish the astronomers best of luck.

The tag, "We May Have Found Planet 9" is click bait. The video presents no evidence to support that idea, nor does it pretend to cover it.

How do we find Planet X?

Well we start with Planet A, then Planet B and continue with Planet C.
Follow those planets until you get to Planet X.

Hope JWST can help in finding Planet 9!🤞

I just remembered as a kid when I watched Planet 51 when it first came out I thought that the solar system legit had 51+ planets in it because my child mind went “Yeah gravity weakens but that just means only bigger planets could orbit”

One of the problems of finding planet 9 is that there is evidence that there are at least one or more planes of the ecliptic one at a 60 degree angle to the main ecliptic that the inner planets are in

Why is it they've discovered rouge planets without host stars thousands of light years away using infrared telescopes, but can't find planet nine or X in our own solar system using the same infrared telescopes? Inquiring minds want to know.

FYI the asteroids in the asteroid field are hundreds of miles apart not right up on each other.

Just a fun fact, the current IAU definition of a planet technically manages to disqualify all planets in the solar system due to langrage point asteroids (the most well know being Jupiter's "Trojan" asteroids). In this case, the particular requirement of that definition is that the object must have cleared its orbital neighborhood of all other objects.

0:54. What you show looks like what an exoplanet orbiting a binary star system might look like, illuminated from two sides by the two stars.

Planet X Could be a ejected planet from Jupiter. Like fifth giant ejection and has reached outer reaches of the Solar System.

Fascinating that we still do not know fuck about our own solar system and we tend to conclude there is no life on the trillions of other things in this universe

Could you perhaps not have a click bait thumbnail, thanks.

We seriously need to name our Moon. Something fun like Ralphie or Bob?

The only reason I know about planet nine is because when my wifi froze, it was the only preloaded tab, so I ended up reading and understanding out of pure boredom

Imagine making a larger discovery than Jupiter's moons and not realizing it

The statement at 7:43 that we can only see plants via reflected light is wrong. We can also directly detect the thermal emission from planets, i.e. the heat radiation of the planet.

Scientists are recently more veering towards it being a *primordial black hole* than a planet, but some think it's a planet.
