When I first read this article it took me a moment to realize that what I was looking at was a 1:1 scale. It's not often astronomy articles have a 1:1 scale image on a sheet of paper.

"And it looks like all of my black holes have just collided". One of my favorite parts of your videos Anton.

Could you imagine how much we could learn if we found this and it was a black hole.

"There is no stealth in space!"

"... also we are missing an entire planet, halp."

If it exists we’re calling it Anton’s Fist.

A black hole the size of your fist? So, that diagram in the article was actually LIFE SIZE? That's got to be a first for any astronomical journal!

Black hole that is roughly the size of a russell's teapot. Interesting

Planet Nine: might be a black hole

``Exact scale (1:1)``
It reminds me of an episode of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" where they battle a Fear Demon. They found a terrifying picture of a ferocious looking monster with a short line of description in an obscure language. The demon cause some mayhem and death while being summoned spiritually so everybody was scared what would happen if he got though to the world physically ... but when he actually did they were surprised that he was only a few inches tall - and stopped being afraid of him (and since he was a fear demon he power faded away when there was no one scared of him). Giles later discovered that the caption to the illustration of the demon read "Actual size" and was annoyed he hadn't noticed it before.

BTW The caption in the black hole paper should have an asterisk with a disclaimer "when printed on paper size A4" or something similar. ;-)

I think the distorted orbits of the bodies in the distant outer solar system could be explained by another star or other massive object passing relatively close by at some point in the very distant past. It doesn't need to be an object that is still nearby today. It could have passed long ago and caused those distorted orbits which would still remain distorted to this day.

True, it could be a primordial black hole. But like I said that doesn't mean it is necessarily out there for us to even find it. It could have passed by long ago, caused the distortions we see, and left. Its true it is worth searching to try to find it, but we should also be prepared for the possibility that there is nothing there for us to find because it is long gone.

We are being threatened by a Goth Disco Ball?

If that's the case, then it puts a black hole well within reach for study. That's a positive.

Thirty or so fairly complex ideas covered without missing a beat and with admirable clarity, in an eight minute video. Mr Petrov keeps getting better and better.

Imagine a black hole in the solar system... A small BH just in reach that would widen our understanding of the universe massively... I'm actually really hyped

If there are small black holes in every star system, might that suggest dark matter doesn't exist? It may just be galaxies have more mass than we predict due to small difficult to detect black holes

If we find a primordial black hole in our sol system, we basically get a very good power source, just feed it matter and collect the accretion disc radiation. A very nice find if true.
