I love how all the rock tumbling videos start off with “im really scared” or “i forgot about these…”

I gasped when I saw the 2nd lid on the 2nd one😂 I thought it was the rocks!

I desperately wanted a rock tumbler as a child. I honestly don’t know what I would have done with all my tumbled rocks, but it sure would’ve been fun. Watching your shorts is a good way for me to live the dream vicariously!

Dental technician labs have special gypsium sedimentation tank attached to the drain pipe so that ground up plaster wouldn't clog up the pipes.

LOL "ok, eight years later". I say that same exact phrase and number whenever something feels like it's taking forever.

Tumblers are used widely. Common uses are to minutely blend various minerals in recipes for heat fired glazes on pottery. Also the same function to create colored grounds upon which gold leaf is placed and burnished to mirror finish.

I built my own rock tumbler out of an old pump jack, a Folgers coffee can, and an old inner tube when I was a kid. I did use the actual grit and polishing compound from a hobby shop. It worked pretty good.

Alternative to ‘never drain down a normal sink’: Exclusively drain them down the sinks of your bitter rivals, or corporations you dislike

I have never seen this type of video nor do I know much about this hobby but those are some very good looking rocks.

I saw someone add borax to the tumbler, asked why, for easy rinse off. It works !

Just finished my first load pf rocks. Unfortunately they remain hazy. Im gonna do a diffwrent load, see what i can learn, before going back. Do you happen to have a video showing what the rocks should look like after each cycle? I work best with a visual and havent been able to find anything so far

If you leave the slurry for too long, can/ will it grow mold?

I’m not sure why you were worried about it. I don’t see how the slurry could hurt the rocks, even if they sit in it for all those years. And indeed, they turned out lovely.
