Question please help! I recently had a bad accident and tore my Medial meniscus. I’m not quite sure if my loss of ROM is from that though, or from the Tibial Plateau surgery that I recently had. I almost don’t want to have meniscus surgery because it could also be due to 2 torn ligaments (PCL & PLC) I have. Please advise. I have been pushing myself with ROM exercises and am slowly gaining some each week. I am 7 weeks now post op from my tibial plateau surgery and they are going to look into planning my next surgery for PCL & PLC repair. But I really want to avoid meniscus surgery if possible. How can I be certain there is locking or not in the knee? Is it normal for someone who suffered all the injuries I have to be struggling with full flexing of the knee joint at this point? I have a stage 2 fracture of the tibia plateau. (Plate and screws). Please please someone help me

Tore meniscus 4months ago. Still can’t fully run but I’m walking straight. Still have pain so I went to orthopedic and first thing he said after seeing mri was to stitch it up. Can I get fully better without surgery no locking or anything, able to deliver mail for 10 hours but still can’t run without pain

I had surgery even when I have almost 100% motion and no lock, the doctor still recommended the surgery but now I see he did it for a cash grab, another doctor recently told me with a new MRI that my inner meniscus was removed almost completely and says the thin layer of meniscus remaining will degenerate quickly and probably I will need replacement of the knee in 5-7 years because of this... What's your view on that?, I think there are some very shady doctors that don't care if you'll end up worse than before as long as they can get some money out of you

You do though ether way damage other ligaments. Because I had a acl & meniscus repair bone fragments that grew roots. Then my second surgery was a acl revision thaw a mcl and all and a nether meniscus repair and patellar tendon. I’m so confused. There so mine different answers.

So doctors told me after almost 3 years I got something like this, a microtear. My knee doesn't lock up but whenever I jump, run, or have any impact it starts hurting ln the outside. Having surgery Monday apparently, is it the right choice?

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “locking”? It’s been 8 weeks since I was injured by a massage therapist actually, and both my knees feel a bit locked up STILL as I walk.

What does locking mean? I got a sharp pain at 30-40 degrees but can go below or above that

It revealed an anterolateral intermeniscal cyst with radial tear of anterior portion of lateral meniscus. There is also mild Chondromalacia. Should I go for meniscectomy and chondroplasty.

Have had 2 lateral meniscus surgeries. No issues for years and now I felt something move in my knee while I was crossing my legs on a stool in front of the couch. Hurts to bend, chiropractor tried to adjust but unsuccessful. Foot was slightly numb and 5 hours later numbess is gone. Should I go get surgery again or will mobility return after a few days?

Does a meniscus tear cause pain that comes and goes with wear or is it constant/doesn't get better with rest please?

Dang mine is locking but i cant do surgery because that requires me taking time off work and i cant afford to take time off so is there any way to relieve the pain at home at least long enough for me to get some sleep i get fluid built up in my knee from it and it sucks

Does it count as locking up if I can bend my knee but can’t fully extend it? I guess that classifies as locking up but I don’t know the extent of my knee locking up required for surgery

Yes you need surgery even if it doesn't lock up! It depends from person to person.
