How to do in yard fall honey bee nuc splits
Beekeeping technique from barnyard bees for splitting honey bees in fall with nucs.
Video was made October 1st. Increase in the fall with splits so you will have more hives come spring. The more splits you do the better chance of having more hives the coming year. You have to work with numbers in beekeeping. If you go into winter with 20 hives, there is a good chance of having at least 10 come spring. New beekeepers try this, and see how many more bees you will have next season.

Another tidbit packed video, great for learning how to propagate healthy hives. Thank you David!

queen can be observed at 2:08 moving from very bottom of frame up; ~4"/100mm from left.

Did 2 mid September splits myself, both queens survived the mating flight and are laying away. Thanks Dave, gives me some insight on what it is like to run a larger operation.

My sweet bees aren't too sweet lately.
I was in mine with a misty cloudy overcast day, temps in the upper 40's here in Tulsa and not one came out. They normally fly in these temps, but being the first cold front they are in cluster.
Another good video David.
I just cleaned my Beatle barns and reinstalled them today myself

First to comment I reckon. It must be due to the fluctuations in the time space flux capacitor. Oh, and Congrats David on reaching 78k subs! Moving On Up To the Top.... Great video. The next thing you know your followers will have made thousands of new hives for spring. God help em because they will be hooked on bees. Oh yes.

Where are you getting #8 hardware cloth, or am I looking for the wrong thing? I can't seem to find it stocked anywhere.

So was the new queen from another hive you had or would you allow them to raise a new one.

If you put the oxalic vaporizer on a plate and put it in the space on the back of hive where the sticky board goes, will the treatment be affected and will this degrade the screen on the bottom board?

Question: i've been open feeding pollen substitute; the bees stopped using it about the same time the "flour weevils" found it. the weevils give the pollen a foul smell; have you had this experience and how do you deal with it; or is this coincidence?

Question.. when you're collecting honey, how do you make sure that there isn't any brood in the caps? Does the queen not lay eggs in honey frames? Or does our honey have larvae in it lol gross

Hey David, can you do a vid on how bees deal with hurricane season? Does it mess them up? Do they just hunker down? How/where to secure/relocate the hives etc.
