What he did not mention is he is in Michigan, so if you are in the south you can easily push that up a month or more. I live in Texas and i pull my last honey in early October, some years i have been harvesting tomatoes from my garden on Thanksgiving day so adjust according to where you live. Thank You for sharing your knowledge with us i have been a bee keeper for 20 years and still enjoy your channel.

Thank you for the videos! You're a great source for us new beekeepers. What do you do with the frames that aren't quite ready for harvesting when you remove the honey supers?

I think it made sense. So if I got two medium 8 frame boxes and one super. Pull the super and they will hopefully backfill the mediums in the fall and hopefully have enough last the winter. I am in the South fwiw

Northern Minnesota, 2nd year beekeeper. I’m tripping balls right now! (chemical free) this week I had an epiphany moment. Been watching you the last year or so, and other YouTube Beekeeper’s. I want to whole heartedly Thank You! You are the roots to my epiphany moment. The last few videos hit home in how to prepare for winter and actions OR inaction last month come to play now through this fall. Thank you! I am completely different this year from last and thanks to you next year is gonna be Freak Show Awesome!

Does the goldenrod flow usually bring a lot of honey?

I have 2 honey supers on one hive. They are full but not capped. Will the bees cap it before winter

Here in NH I always associated goldenrod as a September flower but I saw some in bloom last week in July even more this week . I am sure there will be some blooming. In early September but few weeks earlier than I would have said. Good food for thought video!

I just put honey supers this evening. Golden rod is starting to bloom. Get ready! In October the second box will be converted to all honey from box 2 and 3. Broad if any will be move to box 1. Plan on wintering with 1 broad/food and full 10 frame deep of honey above.

Just curious what your mite treatment of choice is for the fall treatment after you pull the honey supers?

What do You do with the frames that are still uncapped and too ripe to harvest?
Thanks always for all the info!

Was wandering about that.

When you pull the honey boxes and make their area a lot smaller, will it trigger them to want to swarm at all when they start bringing in a lot of nectar from fall flow?

Ok got a question for you I’m in South Georgia an I was told I need to move all my brood to my bottom boxes an all stored honey to top boxes now I am new to bee keeping this year so what is the best way to prepare them for winter when it’s time

Nice video, I subscribed. How much UNCAPPED honey per frame is acceptable for extraction? 5, 10, 15%? What's a good rule of thumb?

Do you feed 2 to 1 or 1 to 1 in fall thx Bryon

I’m a first year Beek. I have a colony with 2 8 frame deeps and 2 8 frame medium supers almost filled with capped honey. I live in New Jersey and do not know how much to leave on the hive in preparation for Winter. I figure I would take one super of honey to extract and leave 1 on the hive?? Would like your advise.
