Hey guys, this is my Hyper E-Ride Mountain bike with 26" wheels from Walmart. It goes for $650 but I got it on sale for $400 I'm here to share my thoughts on it and if I think it was worth it or not. Oh and My throat wasn't doing so well so I used Siri reading a my script from the Notes app to voice this video so hope you guys don't mind lol.

Anyways If you want to check out the bike and maybe buy it when it goes back on sale, here's the link, good luck ^^

Also the bigger 29 inch version with disc brakes is currently on sale for 600 so maybe check that one out instead

I agree with your assessment that at 400.00 this bike is an amazing deal, I have had it for a year and a half and aside from minor adjustments it continues to serve me well. As far as the chain drop issue, yes, this is a common problem with this bike, but a chain tensioner(or shortening the chain a link or two) will fix this issue.(I did both and shortening the chain has worked flawlessly for me)

All the things you point out are very good issues. Most people wouldn't even think of. Thank you for such an awesome review. 👌

Based on what you've shown and discussed on this ebike, I'd pass on the 'Hyper' even at $400.
I bought an entry-level folding e-bike (as a backup) from Walmart coming up on 3 years ago for ~$300 regular retail price.
Soon after, Walmart had some big bumps in ebike prices.
Bike I bought still works great. It came with throttle, disc brakes, ALPHANUMERIC computer display (not the simple idiot light display), headlight, 250W motor, 7.5Ah lithium battery, Shimano shifting and rear derailleur, etc.
Headlight was really bottom of barrel 1W LED lamp, so it was first thing I replaced with an 18W headlight. I also added a rear-view mirror.
I measured the battery performance and when new it actually delivered reasonably close to the claimed 7.5Ah (at Id=0.2C==1.5Amps). Capacity is now about 6.6Ah so it's performing quite well for a lithium-ion technology pack.

(note: I've replaced the LED headlight on every ebike I've purchased. Even ebikes costing about $1000 come fitted with ultra-crappy headlights. It's like the manufacturers go out to find the worst headlight available to stick on their ebikes.)

I bought the hyper 26 inch over a year ago. I actually loved it immediately. I wanted to purchase a spare battery and was unsuccessful in finding one through Walmart. I decided to later purchase the hyper 29 inch ebike with the same battery so that I could use both batteries on one bike for longer trips. The 26 inch bike was built a little larger and has a chain guard to keep the chain from coming off. I think I’ll try to modify that for the 26 inch bike. The 29 inch has disc brakes. But I went through the stock brake pads In around 4 months. So I just ordered new ones and installed them today. Hopefully these last a little longer but I ordered a spare set of pads and they were very simple to change. My 26 inch ebike i replaced the back tire as it had started getting worn out on the tread. I upgraded the brake pads on it as well. Later I found a spare battery for sale on Ebay it was used but still in good condition for around 100.00 plus shipping. I now have 3 batteries and I bought a bike rack and installed it on the rear of my 29 inch bike. And bought a bag to carry my spare batteries and other things. But I keep both bikes clean and the chain oiled so they will last as long as I possibly can keep them. I ride them both often daily. And for the price I think it’s a great investment. Looking at different models of ebikes they have some that are much better quality but they are closer to being a grand or more in price.

Bearings rotors or axles.... Play probably last 1500 miles so no 1 ever actually catches on because that's a long time from

Perhaps for 4 00 I would think about it but for less than $650 let's just say 6:50 with it including the tax for $600 I could get a 29 inch KHS Zassa it would probably last me a very long time the KHS is non-electric

I use a beach cruiser with a SmartBikeWheel. I only have the coaster break. Top that I pull a dog cart. At 12mph. 3 days a week 5miles to the VA Hospital for therapy. With pedal assist it hits 28mph .

Odd math going on here, using conventional Wh definitions for these battery packs...
She doesn't get it right anywhere in the video.
10.0Ah x 36V = 360Wh
8.0Ah x 36V = 288Wh
7.5Ah x 36V = 270Wh (not the 280Wh claimed at (00:23)
