Intel brings the fight to the entry-level enthusiast GPU market with the Battlemage-powered Arc B580. It's cheaper than the RTX 4060 and RX 7600. It's got the 12GB of VRAM we think this market segment needs. Its RT and raster performance is class-leading. Is there anything NOT to like about the Arc B580? Rich investigates.

Intel beating AMD in GPUs, AMD beating Intel in CPU competition ...THE WORLD HAS GONE CRAZY

Even if the 5060 is 30% faster with 8gb, I would still go with the 580, 8gb going forward is criminal

Middle finger to Nvidia, 12GB is for entry cards. Im excited for their higher end stuff. They have better upscaling and ray tracing than AMD and could be the next budget king.

"AMD CPU and Intel graphics is the best budget combo right now"

Definitely never thought I would say that 😲

The B580 having more VRAM than my RTX3080 is pretty nice(12 vs 10). Good for competition

A few weeks ago: "Intel is giving up on dedicated GPUs"
Now: "Intel has absolutely DOMINATED the dedicated budget GPU market!"

COD:IW crashing on load is a 24H2 issue.
"this is an ongoing issue with hardware flip queue, disable Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduling to revert to a classic flip queue, or disable windowed mode enhancements and run the game borderless window. "
Had the same problem on a system with a 3080.

Games should have a build in 'console quality' setting and good fps limiter (which does not introduces extra latency). It would save a lot of time for many.

Is it a coincidence that the three popular GPU company's colours, when put together make it RGB ??

Finally!!! I waited it out. Next year, I'll probably build a decent entry-level machine without being rinsed. Why was this so hard. Everyone with 1060 in their system has been waiting for something like this card to upgrade.

My 1080Ti watched this it's terrified.

The B580 looks cool, but DF's enhanced benchmarking data capture is pure data porn 😂

Competition like this is amazing for the consumer. Even if this card isn't for you, it IS a good thing for the market. Super glad to see it. Appreciate the content as always!

This coming out after everyone was complaining over Great Circle needing RT enabled cards because of price is cathartic. Yes, the legacy support is shaky, but the fact is that if you're needing a budget build for new games, this is a great GPU to start with

Benchmarks of current games are one thing, but another is future game support. In this respect a 12 GB card like the Arc 580 will simply last much longer than a 8 GB card like onthe Nvidia entry level (perhaps including the upcoming RTX 5060). There are already many games that don't run on 6 GB cards anymore, and soon there will be games that don't run on 8 GB cards, or hardly run. 12 GB is a healthy 50% more than 8 GB. GPU requirements can usually be scaled down with settings, VRAM usage not so much.

I think that a current AMD CPU with an iGPU + B580 is an excellent combination, the AMD iGPU can carry the PC in older games so the user doesn't have to wait for Intel's drivers to catch up (not the best but a more viable option)

I welcome a viable third GPU option. Keep going, Intel. If anything, maybe it'll drive Nvidia and AMD to have better offerings at that price point.

Great improvement, but that legacy game support concern is legit, for me at least. One of the things I love about PC gaming is firing up an oldie but goodie from time to time.

Testing GPU's with comparable price to performance CPU's is a huge win for actual consumer relevance in testing. THANK YOU, what a win.
