It takes a lot of solid planning to make a serious motherboard upgrade fully worth it.
Getting a cpu that is compatible with specific ram with the specific motherboard is a tall order.

The only reason I upgraded to to DDR 5 was because my ram sticks died and I was still on an 8th gen intel cpu from 2017, I figured it was just time to invest in some new components if I had to buy some anyways

Great job explaining that Linus! I bought a second hand DDR5 Mobo + ram + cpu + cooler from someones walmart build, however I got an asus b760m-a, with an i5-13600k, 16 gb ddr5 ram, and a coolermaster vertical fan cooler.

Thankfully my aio liquid cooler worked anyways, and a coworker sold me his 32gb amd ddr5 vengeance ram that had xmp profiles on it! Thankfully I made the DDR4 to DDR5 jump for 320$
