Yeah been using attack percent cup for awhile for certain characters. And it was outperforming the elemental cup. Not sure how the misconception got started that elemental bonus was always better but it's so ingrained in the community.

I tested atk Percent vs elmntal dmg bonus goblet on my keqing and even though atk Percent goblet had better stats in terms of crit, elmntal dmg goblet was outperforming the atk percent one.

Very good video, and the law is also applied to Crit Dmg/atk ratio. I usually use nice piece with good roll into atk% to subtitue for crit dmg substat. As for the Elemental bonus vs Atk% goblet, it depends a lot on which one you have better substats and how you use the character.

This was actually the case with my Ayaka having too much Crit DMG. (keep in mind this is using 4-set blizzard strayer and an r1 Blacksword)

I was first running a Crit DMG circlet with 1722(overall ATK) and 210% Crit DMG

But then, I tried changing the circlet to an ATK% one, so that made my (overall ATK) 2, 081 and 162% Crit DMG. I was surprised that this combination net me more damage (I tested this using the first hit of her normal attack, the 1st set running the CritDMG circlet was hitting around 4351 damage on a monster but the 2nd set using the ATK% circlet was hitting at 4401 damage) yeah I know that's marginal, one could even say it's negligible but it proves the factuality of diminishing returns.

Idk if I'm stupid or not but this video was pretty confusing because of the fact that around @6:00 it wasn't clear at all to me that you were bumping up the DMG multiplyer for BOTH ayaka with ATK goblet AND Ayaka with Cryo Goblet. I finally caught on to it after watching the video several times over but you skip over that detail and completely lose me. But now I get it.

I have the same 46.8% ATK% and Hydro Dmg bonus 46.8% and Xingqiu got higher Hydro dmg with 46.8% ATK one than Hydro Dmg Bonus stats.

Make a separate video with gameplay proving your theory. Otherwise, it has flaws. God bless you!

Does furina fits the best example of giving elemental damage bonus? I still don't know how her damage bonus works

I was just trying to find if atk increases swirl dmg

There's no gameplay showing the damage difference between Atk% & Elemental bonus. That's a missed opportunity bud.

The one thing i dont understand is the ayaka dmg with atk % part. Is that the attack percentage that boosts the overall attack power or a damage bonus?

Because i thought the atk goblets i creases overall attack power not act as a damage bonus.

(Edit: never mind, I think I got the gist of it.... Basically dmg bonus is useless without the proper overall attack power.)

I’ve been using an atk% goblet on my Hu Tao since I got her. Never gotten a useable pyro dmg bonus so it’s nice to know that I’m not losing out on too much dmg.

- I feel like the excel table part wasn't properly explained (changing a value changes other values + how is the difference calculated + etc).
- Not showing footage of the damage.. specially considering you did "COMPLETE ENERGY RECHARGE GUIDE" which SHOWS this kind of thing! Going over which enemies have what kind of defenses as you show the values on screen.
- This is too simple, but a good start (even if we are almost 1 year in).. Every character is very specific, as they have their own personal values and ascensions. I've yet to see someone do actual useful work on this kind of thing for each character, showing what kind of ratios are better for each character (including artifacts, crit stats, weapons, etc). Or something even more useful like the amount of ER they would need to reaload their Burst taking into account their CoolDown, amount of skill usages they can get during that time, and some rotations of same element (and different ones), auto attacks, etc.. just to reload it exactly as needed in order to re-use it (with a small window for dodges and other in Abyss).

How tf are they different, the only difference I can see is that ATK% just boosts your physical aswell as elemental

And this is what I love about Qavi, he grabs a discussion on discord and GG

The fact you had to boost the elemental damage up to 250% is proof enough that atk% is garbage. That number is completely unrealistic. Even if your character's natural scaling is an element, with the same cup and a 2-piece set that gives bonus to the same element, you're only looking at around +90% elemental damage. Even if you could double that bonus it would still be better than atk%, and that's with your very high base attack. If you had a weapon that didn't have a monstrous amount of attack, it would diminish the effect of atk% even more. Moral of the story, atk% main stat items (aside from sands) are almost universally trash unless you're still building up your artifacts and you don't have anything better.
