A lot of people saying how this fits Jack's feelings, but I think it could also be how Felix feels, hearing the phone ring over, over, over and over again...

This song fits so well with Jack's desperation and anxiety over his missing children, it shows his anger and fear, not only possibly losing his trust about his friend but also worrying over what happened to his offsprings

FELIX. FELIX, PICK UP. IT’S BEEN THREE HOURS SINCE YOU WENT TO PICK UP EDD AND MOLLY. I’VE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT YOU FOR THREE HOURS. WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CHILDREN? JUST TELL ME. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU HAVEN’T PICKED UP THE PHONE IN THREE HOURS. JUST WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?

Jack: Felix? Where are you?

Felix, burying his children: Got a smoothie.

This song really goes to show how Jack was feeling, as the looping was most likely meant to represent his anxiety and fear repeating the same thought over and over again, “something really bad has happened to the kids”, and the tense instruments were his anger and frustration towards Felix for letting something happen to the kids and not telling him what happened

this sounds like anxiously pacing back and forth, the looping and constant transition between chords is pretty nerve-wracking, i love it

edit: jesus, didn't expect this comment to blow up, thanks guys :)

I can imagine Jack walking back and forth in front of the telephone waiting anxiously for Felix to respond while this plays in the background

In my opinion, I think this song is perfect. The fact that it’s just the same notes over and over again really expressed how Jack felt, it’s been three hours and your children still aren’t back and your besti esty isn’t picking up the phone. You’re left to assume what happened, are they alive? Are they dead. The song isn’t progressing at all, and neither is your knowledge of what happened to your children. Does that make sense? I hope it does.

The kind of tune that plays in my head whenever I find out about my 10 missing assignments that were due 50 days ago

What happened to my children?
If anything happened Felix you must tell me.
You haven't called me in three hours I need to know what is going on.
I’ve tried to call you all night.
What the hell is wrong with you?
I-...
I've been trying to contact you all night.
I've been calling everyone for you.
Just *what the hell is wrong with you?*

I feel as though this is less the reaction of jack, and more of Felix:

Felix's pure silence after the fact. Felix's betrayal of a best friend. Felix killing 2 kids
Felix failing to hold onto anything.

and through the cutscene it takes the perspective of Felix, showing HIM driving, showing HIM talking to them, hell even the last lines could be Felix reminiscing on the past and saying "its all my fault, its all my fault, its all my fault"

and then the phone call being the final gut punch for Felix, the messages on the phone. with his friend worried, panicking, yelling about his children and all Felix can do is acknowledge that he killed them.

felix gets out the car and check's the back, see's Ed and Molly, screams in sadness, fear and pain, bury's them in the forest, makes the tape recording we hear in "Guilty" and then he walks home, and when he arrives, he check's his messages, to learn its been 3 hours since then, to learn that his friend is mad, that his friend is stressed, that he is a failure who cant hold onto any family, his or others and that he killed them.

no matter what he says, he killed them because of his addiction
