History was not only my favorite subject, but also the best subject I studied in school, and thereafter. It wasn't the Republic of Rome that caused the fall, it was the Democratic government of Rome that destroyed their currency/economics and ruin the country, they also stabbed Caesar to death. In a democracy the government tells the people what to do, making laws, edicts, ordinances, and other such devices in order to control the people.
A republic is where the people tell the government what to do, what they want, this is the reason why we have elections in the United States, both state and federal. Because we do not live in a democracy! United States is a republic, or have you never actually listened to the pledge of allegiance?

These people are snakes, and they sneak in all the dark corners and cracks of everyone's life, they are nothing more than intestinal parasites, living off of the sorrow, pain and suffering of others. Lincoln was a Republican, and he's the one that signed the executive order to free the slaves. It was the Democrats that started the civil war! Learn your history, trust me these evil wretched vile leaders of the free world, absolutely know the truth! Knowledge is power.
