Remove any sticky tape residue & glue and clean sticker adhesive super easy with this strong DIY cleaner.

If you need to remove sticky tape or get rid of unwanted sticker residue or sticker glue adhesive in a snap you need to check this out. I always have trouble getting old tape residue off a surface of an object or project without hard work or scraping. Here is one way to remove sticky adhesive label residue from metal, wood, plastic, even wood flooring. Maybe you have some icky sticky residue or glue left on your glass window from old masking tape or something similar. I had a bottle of tiki torch oil/fuel sitting in the garage and thought I'd give it a shot. It worked so well I thought I'd share my results for how I safely and easily removed the sticky adhesive residue left from old duct tape and sticker labels that always seem to stay put. It seems safe enough to use on car paint but I'd be sure and always test a spot so none of your projects and stuff get damaged first. I have also used WD-40, goof off, and goo gone and they all work but the oil seemed to work easier for me in this instance. Another tip is to moisten the sticky area with a damp cloth and try acetone nail polish remover. Word of caution though when I tried the acetone and goo gone on this project it took the paint off so it really is important to always test a little spot out of the way. I have also used olive oil and other more natural products and it works but it seems even after letting it sit to need a lot of work scrubbing. I am definitely a believer in using oil and lighter fluid now. The glue seemed to wipe and roll away right off the surface. It worked like a pro strength remover that cuts through the toughest spots and stains quickly. It removed quickly what ordinary cleaners can't handle or take forever. I'm going to use it to eliminate all my costly messes and mistakes around the garage, workshop and home from now on. It works faster and better than other removers I have tried. Please let us know in the comments below if any of you have another great or better ways to remove the goo. As always thanks for watching!

Thanks for all the kind words I'm glad this tip has worked for so many of you. I'm sure there are many other great ways out there but if you have some tiki fluid laying around give it a test and who knows it may work for you too. I can't thank you enough for this video. I'm a teacher and I had super sticky maskintape residue on my class floor. The janitor tried his best but it was a pain to remove it. Today i bought a bottle and I removed it effortlessly. I couldn't believe it but most of all, I was happy!!! Thanks!

My wife just purchased some cheap plastic drinking cups for our camper at The Dollar Tree. Unfortunately, they had wrapped clear packing tape all around the 6 to hold them together. It was a sticky mess and my wife just now started to toss the cups out, as we had tried boiling the cups in hot water, WD40, baking soda, acetone and some cleaners, but all to no avail. I told her to let me look on YouTube before she tossed them away. Bingo! Your solution may be just the ticket. I will try that. A few years back I made the mistake of trying to remove sticky tape residue where the movers had taped an electrical cord to the top of our dryer. That Goof Off crap ruined the paint and I have never used or recommended it to anyone since. Thanks for the video and possible solution to my problem.

Hello all the way from New Zealand !
I had left a roll of duct tape on the cloth upholstery of my car, forgot about it and parked in the sun. Not a good idea I hear you say and you’d be right . It made big mess but luckily I found this video and the tiki oil worked a treat ! Thanks so much !!

Wow!!! This really stinkin works. I used it on my Starbucks coffee bottle and it took off all of the residue on the side and the bottom in like 2 seconds. I used lighter fluid we use on our pellet stove.

Best product I have ever encountered to take the sticky residue off id something called Melaluca oil. It is a derivative of the New Zealand Tea Tree. It is expensive stuff, but a small amount will go a long way.

Wow, so glad I found this! Had this nasty tape gunk from this old packing tape I used to tape paper down to my cutting mat for watercolor painting. Tried rubbing alcohol, soap and water, barely anything was coming off. Found this, tried just some regular lighter fluid for charcoal etc, it came off without much effort at all! Thank you for sharing! I washed the plastic cutting mat with soap and water afterwards.

Thanks for this video. I needed to remove gorilla tape adhesive from plastic window molding. WD-40 didn't work, Goof-off may have worked if I wanted to work for several hours. Ah - the Tiki Torch oil worked like a charm and it took less than 10 minutes. U da man.

Great video. Used electrical tape to hold down a part I was soldering on a laminate kitchen work surface kitchen. The tape must be old, as it left behind nasty black goo. Rubbing alcohol did nothing. Goo Gone was worthless also. However, WD40 removed it quite easily. Spray on, let soak 5min, and just wiped up. This is the difference between polar and non-polar solvents. Oils are non-polar, alcohol is polar. Acetone shares both properties, which is why it mixes with water (polar) and gasoline (non-polar). Pure acetone is also very hydrophilic, and turns your hands white from dehydration. It also dissolves Nitrile gloves, so they are no protection against acetone.

Thank you so much for this video. So I had a Pure Liquid Paraffin Candle and Lamp liquid sitting in the garage so I tried it and it WORKED. Just to let the readers know that if you have something similar around give it a try.

This happened to be the best solution for my car. I had hard residue and pieces of duct tape on my car. It sat at 90 degree temperatures in the sun for about a month and was rock hard. I tried wd40 and some of it came off but with alot of encouragement from some elbow grease. I had some CHARCOAL fluid flame starter and tested it. It worked like a dream! Less elbow grease and sweat outside in the sun made the job much easier. Thanks for the vid!

Thank you so much 😊 I have been having the same issue and have tried at least 8 different products. My surface is STAINED WOOD and the Tiki Torch fuel worked GREAT without removing ANY of the stain.
