Fun fact: the only Villager name to be changed in the Dutch version is Dom, who had his name changed to Donny. The reason behind this is most likely because 'dom' is Dutch for 'dumb'.
Funnily enough though, Del's Dutch name remains the same, despite the fact that 'del' is a Dutch insult to women who go out with a lot of men.

Also Rooney's Italian name is Balzak, which when translated to Dutch means ballsack, so that's pretty funny as well.

Another side fact to CJ's name being Justin:
They can't pronounce "beaver" correctly, they say it like "Biba" wich sounds like "Biber", making the Justin Bieber joke even funnier

I think that the Nook Miles was great. In older games I never really wanted to work on upgrading my house or fishing or catching bugs but I really have been throwing myself in that way. I'm always fishing lol

I never saw the appeal with Animal Crossing and I never played the games. But one day I decided to step out my comfort zone and try Animal Crossing New Horizons and all I can say is... I'm a fan now and now I see the appeal!

Did you guys not mention clay and coco (jp: yayoi)? They're references to the Jomon and Yayoi people of Japan. Clay is designed after Jomon pottery and Yayoi is based on maniwa figurines, just like the gyroids. Her English name coco is because she also loosely resembles a coconut, and it was believed English audiences wouldn't understand what a maniwa figurine was or who the Yayoi people were.
