Shockingly, the STOCK B58 block can withstand 1000hp (I think). Despite it built on German parts, it is still over built.

edit: there's a very heated argument in the replies and I didn't mention reliable horsepower, i just said the stock block can handle 1000HP, just with some reliability issues

What I can tell you from BMW ownership experience: its going to be a really fun car for a while, then it will being falling apart, everything will fall apart, and its going to be very expensive to fix in both parts and labor, and even after repair the next thing will fall apart, and the next, and the next, until you are so fed up you sell the thing for barely anything.
