Who knew Ray Charles was such a badass.

Man, for being a mere henchman, he was by far the most formidable one against Batman and gave him the fight of his life! With such fighting skills and weaponry, he put up a hell of a fight before Batman finally got the better of him.

And just for laughs, I love that giant ring when his head is bashed against the bell before he fell to his demise! Everytime I watch football clips of brutal hits, or body slams, that bell sound rings in my head. 😅😅😅😅

Clive's goon is probably "what just happened?" As soon as he is grabbed and it is the last thought he ever has.

Such a short scene, but Batman went from

0:00 so self-confident in saving Vicki and stopping Joker,
0:44 surprised somebody would dare jumping on him,
1:52 running out of ideas how to beat the Joker's big goon,
2:03 worry and fear about losing the fight,
2:13 surrender and resignation.

Every superhero meets a stronger opponent. This was Batman's...

This scene and the strongman dynamite scene in the sequel was the closest thing Burton's Batman had to fighting his equivalent of Nolan's Bane.

In the novel, this guy Bozo 3, he took a straight paralyzing hit to the solar plexus from Batman & all the guy did was grunt & then immediately straightened & grinned.

That Batman vs black strongman fight was basically 2 strong beasts fighting.

One of Joker's henchmen did an epic backflip before being stopped in the nuts by Batman from 0:06 - 0:14.

This dude’s a monster. Even with the bat suit on, those punches sound like they hurt. Imagine if that dude punched him without the suit on. I feel like we’re talking internal bleeding and ruptured organs 😬.

The third henchman was Batman's toughest challenge in the movie. All due respect to Bob, I think he would've made a better number one guy!

Michael's Batma fighting Clive Curtius' thug was like David and Goliath and of course "David" wins.

After crashing in the batwing, climbing the stairs of the cathedral, Batman hurries up to save Vicki and apprehend Joker...
In the belfry he meets Joker's strongest goons.

Batman's got a special weapon to incapacitate the first one (RIP balls :D)
The second one has a daring plan to jump on Batman but falls just short of bringing him down (adios, Lawrence).

What to say about the third one? The strongest opponent Batman had to fight in the first three movies: big, tall, skilled, unafraid, motivated to bring Batman down.
Batman's clearly the underdog in this fight: getting surprised from behind, tossed through the wooden wall, he tries to kick the black goon (his signature move in this movie), but he soon sees he's physically not a match for him. For a while all he can do is evade and hide.

For the people who argue Batman lures the big black goon into a trap: I know the movie makers want us to believe that, but... getting thrown into the stairs, getting headlocked, getting punched in the body, face and balls, then kicked in the face and thrown into the bell floor hole seems like A REALLY BAD PLAN :)

We know Batman's gonna win in the end (since the movie is called Batman :D), but you gotta admit... he was wearing a lot of plot armor here :)

I love this scene

Weird that they didn’t show better footage of the device Batman hit the balls of the flipping guy

The lighting in this movie is the best part. It's a feeling I can't describe. Not a happy positive one but one fitting for the real movie Tim Burton wanted to make
