Between 1999 and 2015 more than half of the entire island's population disappeared due in part to habitat loss driven by palm oil harvesting and logging. Poaching and human interaction also contributed to the dramatic loss. Over the next 35 years, researchers predict an additional 45,000 orangutans will be lost.

Borneo, an island located at the center of Southeast Asia, has seen a rapid decline in the orangutan population in recent years. What are some of the ways you think we can help this endangered species?

Horrible, largely thanks to the palm oil used in cheap snacks sold in places like Walmart and Target

We from Malaysia are trying hard to oust our corrupted government... Burning down forest isn't the only crime they did. Google "1MDB" and you will know the scale of worldwide involvements.

That's why I don't buy products that have palm oil and I also help The Orangutan Project with monthly donations.

No palm oil shown in the video. How can we make sure that orangutan stays in palm oil forest rather than rain forest?
