Excellent presentation without being stuffy or assuming your audience is stupid. Instead it is well researched, visually beautiful, informative and humorous. I love your channel.

it's kinda amazing how a group of apes can turn from an easy snack into apex predators by simply picking up pointy sticks

Wow both of these guys do a video together which I've been waiting to see and I like watching each of their videos since they do terrific videos on prehistoric subjects.

Who else noticed that the image shown at 0:45, of that beast eating a human, is a direct rip off of Francisco Goya's "Saturn Eating His Children"?

I agree there needs to be actual movies about these things, not just documentaries. I feel like it's a gold mine that the entertainment industry just hasn't hit yet. There are so many interesting stories you could make with their brutal day to day lives. It doesn't even need to be based on a specific specimen. Hell, it would even be cool if they made one and in the second movie its their decendant or something as a different species entirely. Just imagine a movie with no real intelable words but you can tell what is happening through their mood and emotions and feelings forcing the viewers to use another form of communication that we have evolved to understand whats going on ironically, immersing the viewer and causing us to make connections and relate with and to the characters the same way they did.

Two kinds of evidence point independently to the origin of _Homo ergaster/erectus_ as the time when cooking began. First, anatomical changes related to diet, including the reduction in tooth size and in the flaring of the rib cage, and they fit the theory that the nutritional quality of the diet improved and the food consumed was softer. Second, the loss of traits allowing efficient climbing marked a commitment to sleeping on the ground in half-dome shelters made of branches and twigs that is hard to explain in the African woodlands or savannah without the control of fire.
