Elgato HD60S disassembly I GUESS

HD60S have pink light of death so I decided to take it apart

Man to think el gatos still out there scamming folks. This video took me back lol thanks for the nostalgia kick i guess :P

I had a bulky card before the hd60 from el gato, think straight stopped working/being recognized one day. Cant rememberif i contacted support, either way it was easier yo just get a new one and they had the hd60 coming out at that point and i watned the better resolution and stuff. Too bad they took the s videos audio port away tho.

Within months my hd60 then started failing on me. Again cant recall if i contacted support and they were unhelpful or what happened. I rememebr there being like not very much support at all for us.

Wound up finding out that pcie capture cards are way more reliable and shelving out so much for some hunk of overprice plastic from el gato almost never made sense.

My new pcie capture card was an aver media live like hd something, software was terrible and problematic but screw that just use obs. Its still kicking it right now working flawlessly in my current system and i dont see myself needing to replace it any time even in the distant future tho so i cant complain.

On the difference between the two cards does either of yours have a separate power or is it powered by the USB.?
