MS Word, Mailings merge, split into individual files

In mailings of MS Word, when you "Finish & Merge", it will generate a single file that contains all documents. By using the "outline mode", we can easily split this merged file into separate ones without any other tools

Thank you so much for this! This is very helpful. Like everyone else here on the comment section, mine also had a letter head. After following the video, my letter head was gone! What I did to resolve the issue was, I saved my letter head as picture (not as a header), I then added a mailmerge field before the picture and set that as "heading", if you don't want that to be visible, you can always change the font color to white :) It worked fine! Thank you again!

Oh my!! Words will never be enough to express how I feel about this.. I used to split hundreds of pages until I discovered mailing tab, NOW YOU HAVE MADE IT EASIER WITH HEADINGS. Thank you much sir

Great video. One quick tips: make sure you remove any dots from each heading if you want the documents to be saved properly. For example, it the headings read "Dr. Smith", "Dr. Guzman, " etc. Before you click on Show Document and then Create, go heading by heading and remove the dots so it reads "Dr Smith", "Dr Guzman" etc. Otherwise when you save the documents the file names will all be Dr1, Dr2 etc.

This was a huge help - thank you very much for the quick and simple tutorial. My only criticism is that you cannot automate separate files to go to individual recipients (but that's on MS Word, not you). You have saved me so much time. Thanks!

Hi there, thank you for the detailed explanation. I have tried it but it ended up that the save file came out only with 1 file instead of the multiple individual files. I have followed the steps one by one, are there any steps that I missed?

this is really helpful! one question - for some reason the there is an extra empty page in the end of each separate document. do you know maybe how to solve that?
