Who is God and What is the Purpose of Man?

One of the foundational pieces in putting together a wholistic approach to understanding Christianity is going back to the beginning. A famous saying goes "if the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable." Knowing who God is and why He made everything we see and know is a guaranteed way to understand how we interact with nature and each other.

Psalms 19:1 teaches us that heavens declare the glory of God and all of creation testifies of Him. This gives us a clue into why God made all nature. He is testifying of himself. Genesis 1:26-28 also teaches us that we are made in the image and likeness of God. Nature testifies about God and man illustrates the nature of God himself. This scores to the basic value of a human life and our importance in God's purpose.
