Ok, even though i do hear similarity, idk if its plagiarism cause these days everyone is running out of beats. Afterall there are only 12 music notes 💀

These people acting like kpop companies haven't been sampling old english songs since the 2000's

Edit: y'all stop fighting in the comments lmao it's okay, everyone's opinions matter. Anyways, thanks for the likes :)

Imagine my shock when there's another song with the same incredibly simple chord progression in a world with HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF SONGS.

Didn’t wanna yap but you’re delusional if you think Illit plagiarized the song.

1. They are in different keys. “Lucky girl syndrome” is in B flat (though it changes to D minor in the chorus), Favorite liar” is in A.

2. Lucky girl is a Pop/R&B song, while favorite liar is an early 2000s rock song. They follow two completely different chord progressions and have distinct melodies throughout the song. (If u’re interested, lucky girl syndrome chorus follows a VI7 - V7 - i7 - i - ii - V/VI progression, similar with magnetic. This is used in multiple Pop/R&B songs, like Just the two of us.)

The only similarity between the two is that the melodic motif at the beginning of the first 4 bars are similar; similar but not the same (even the rhythm is slightly different). Having similar motifs is common in music and in art in general, because artists/musicians recycle each other’s ideas all the time and basically build on what came before them. This is literally called “taking inspiration from each other.” Also, artists using similar elements in their work isn’t plagiarism. That’s like saying Michelangelo copied da Vinci because they have similar brushstrokes in one of their paintings, even though the image is completely different.

It’s crazy how some people didn’t even bother listening to the two songs first before coming up with these arguments.

If this is plagiarism why aren’t people talking about how Bubblegum sounds like Shakatak Easier Said Than Done? Stop this nonsense 🤦‍♀️

honestly a lot of songs sound similar or have the same melody as another song bc of how much music is being produced but for this there’s two completely different vibes so idk why or how some can make that accusation
