5th Gen idols are waaaay more concerned about brand than they are about art and music. I'm just thankful for the veteran Kpop Idols still making music. Without them I think I would checkout entirely.
Kpop is big because they made waves in the MUSIC industry.

I will never understand the Hype for this group??? They seem lacking.... Their song Magnetic is actually quite a bop, but is it worth a win? Probably not as of now, since they have a lot of room for improvements especially the live vocals man 😭😭

So many rookie group who debuted around the same time as them that showed exceptional talents in both singing and dancing, yet they never won anything.. the votes are rigged.

Why bother making survival shows at all? Just straight up make a group and that's it, is that so hard?

I wasn't captivated by this group. I knew nothing about their survival show or any of the controversy surrounding it. I saw Magnetic in my recommended for a few days before I finally decided to check it out. Their concept or debut song didn't stand out to me like other groups have in the past, and they reminded me too much of NewJeans.

It's possible that I've just outgrown kpop at this point, because none of the 5th gen groups have stood out to me so far and it feels like there's just so many of them debuting now that it's hard to keep up lol. If ILLIT becomes successful though, good for them.

At the end if the day these are just girls who are trying to live their dreams and present to us something special. I can't blame them for what the company may be doing but I will root for them as all the members seem genuinely sweet and pure hearted and definitely talented

I’ll it is perfect for their concept honestly. Wonhee, Moka, Minju and Iroha are perfect. I think Yunah could fit a mature concept more. But still she slays

I didn't watch the survival show. I really enjoyed the song, but I feel like if a smaller company had released that song it wouldn't have gotten popular at all.
Survival shows seem like just a popularity drive for PR. Things turn out better when the members fit their concept, complement eachother and get on well with eachother -- rather than being chosen eclecticly through popularity voting
