Sum across multiple sheets - Google Sheets

How do you do this for the sum of a range of numbers in different sheets?

is there a different way to do this? I'm currently using google sheets to keep track of my weekly jobs. so inside one spreadsheet, I will eventually have 52 sheets for the entire year. Right now I have 9 sheets and everytime i add a new week, I need to go to the main sheet where my totals are and modify the fomula.


So my question is, is there a way to have that main sheet with a formula that just adds every specific cell in all the sheets? I'm sorry if this sounds confusing.

is there not a way to do this like in Excel where you just go =SUM(Tab1:Tab100!A1) where you know the values that you want will be on A1, but you just want the sum across a multitude of worksheets all in the same order?

So if I had 12 worksheets one for each month then I would have to click manually on 12 cells to get a yearly sum ... I teach high school and am stuck with google sheets ...this solution is brutal ...I have also tried to select and apply formatting across multiple sheets and I cannot seem to do it ...does sheets have any functionality with multiple worksheets

Jajaja, Sorry this method is not efficent! It's better to hava all data in one tab, because you can use tools like filter and pivot tables. Structure data in fragmented way is efficent!

Thanks for the Video! Now how do I do this same thing for Multiple Spreadsheets, not tabs? I have a Sheet for Jan, Feb, Mar, and so on. I have 1 sheet that tallies all this info on a sheet called YTD. What formula do I use to add these? There formulated the exact same so the same cell in A2 on the Jan sheet is the same cell on the Feb sheet.
