Not disciplining your children is a form of neglect and abuse.

When I was that age my parents could leave me alone in the library for hours and I was content with a stack of books reading quietly. This is INSANITY.

About 20 years ago at Walmart, my 18 month grandson was picking up items from the cart and throwing them on the floor while I was attempting to check out. I told him “no” and popped him on the leg. The cashier told me that I was a “bad grandma” and that I should be ashamed of myself. I asked her if I should have just let him throw everything on the floor and just leave it there for her to pick up? She finished checking me out and we left, no more said.

Should people be shamed for correcting their kids and grandkids?

I showed the clip to my 6 year old and even he understood that you should not act that way and that someone should have stopped her. It was a great teaching moment.

Hope her parents pay for this bullshit.

I’m sixty and have seen this childhood bad behavior my whole life. But years ago someone would have just grabbed the child and escorted both the parent and the child out of the store.

It was almost normal for people over thirty to be frightened of their own children.

I worked at Walmart for 18 years(I quit 3 years ago) you wouldn't believe the way kids act in the store. Their parents are to busy on their phones. I have enough stories to write a book.

"You don't know what she's going through"? If she needs it, get her help. But there is NO reason to allow a child to do this. My parents would NEVER have allowed this.

"Spare the rod, spoil the child" ~ I grew up with that mantra in my family. And I did very well in my life. 65 now. Thank you Ma and Papa.

Former teacher here 🙋🏼‍♀️ the amount of gaslighting from admin about students misbehaving and the refusal from parents to discipline was unreal. Left and am so glad I did. NEVER want to go back.

Anyone who saw what was happening was probably afraid to even touch her because they don't want to get sued for touching someone else's child. I would have looked for the parent, but I understand why no one wants to physically stop her.

As a teacher, I stopped reporting bad behavior because I got tired of being yelled at for not controlling the behavior by both parents and administrators

My father, who passed away 2 years ago, was a substitute teacher in our town and had a student who was causing an issue with another student and when he intervened, he pushed the aggresive student to separate the two. The aggresive student told their parents and it was brought to the school administration which lead to my father not being able to substitute teach. There was no discussion or "hearing" to see what actually happened. It was a teacher put hands on a student and the teacher was wrong. This is the problem nowadays, kids can do what they want because adults are afraid of discipline. If I had done anything like this growing up, my parents would have been all for the teacher's response.

People I know with kids like this have told me "When you have kids you'll understand." I promise I will never understand.

My son has autism, he is currently 10 years old and he has never ever acted like this. He knows the difference between wrong and right and how not to behave.

My daughter quit teaching and started homeschooling her children for a while. She now homeschools the two youngest and the three older ones are now in a no-BS, no-DEI, no-CRT private school. She said she couldn't deal with the parents as much as the children. The parents take no responsibility for the actions of their children.
