Great trick! Been using the start date trick for quite sometime. The EDATE however is quite new to me or I might have not explored Excel functions enough to discover it. thanks for this video, Mike. I can now replace EOMonth-start date with EDATE-start date.

Thanks Mike, for the number of days in the month though, I would normally type in =Day(eomonth(<date>, 0)) which uses the original date. Wouldn't this be easier?

Thanks but for number of days we can use day functions or eomonth functions but the hard one I can not find solutions that dealing with Hijri date

Alternative solution - Power query has built in feature to extract numbers of days in a month.
