Yeah, I feel like people overblow this "complicated watch order" as if everything after Stay Night even had a "correct order" to begin with, they're just intimidating themselves with the imo non-existent problem of "messing up the order".

The way I was introduced to Fate was from the Battle Cats collab. I consumed F/SN media then just went anywhere

Visual novels are a beautiful medium. Art, writing, voice acting and music is top tier. I was blown away and it set a high standard in both visual novel and writing. Especially writing.

I am deeply saddened that *Mahoyo* is getting an anime adaptation by ufotable because most people will no longer experience the visual novel blind, as it was intended. The *Mahoyo* visual novel is one of the most unique and valuable productions in the entire media. Its presentation is a masterpiece, and the scripting feels like 'magic.' Nasu mentioned in an interview that they aimed to push the medium to the next level with this work, and it was created with the intention of "standing on its own even without an anime adaptation." Adapting it into a single movie seems like a recipe for failure, as the pacing, atmosphere of the slice-of-life scenes, and dialogue are crucial to this work. Additionally, Nasu's narration elevates the rather straightforward story in a way that is difficult to capture in an anime format. People will probably see the pretty colors and battle scenes, and call it a day. Missing the deeper experience that the visual novel offers.

Thank you for calling out Fate/Zero fanboys. They are almost as annoying as MHA fans, but anime fans give it a pass just because they don’t want to read a VN. Calling it inessential is so satisfying to hear. I have seen toxic Fate/Zero fans read the visual novel just to prove Fat/Stay Night fans that Fate/Zero is better than Fate/Stay Night just to justify being anime elitists.

I agree with the points about HF anime adaptation. I remember trying to watch it when it came out and finding that a lot of it felt incomplete, yet unnecessarily drawn out. At some point I thought that maybe I only felt this way about it because I had already watched a playthrough of the story on YouTube some years prior, and your point pretty much validates that to an extent.
