Smart & Easy Drawer Slide, Q&A and Mini Project (Random Shop Stuff 26)

In a past video I asked for some questions. But since I did that in a way so you could only fin d that if you watched the whole video. It acheived what I wanted and I got only good questions, also more personal ones and didn't had to filter any of them. I also built a simple stand for a freezer with a drawer. I made wooden drawer slides, that are almost full extension and the drawer won't fall down and has a positive stop.

Enjoy the video!

I think it doesn't matter someone else did any project before. I 'd like to see YOUR PERSPECTIVE doing staff. You're unique. Do whatever you want. We'll watch it

Perfect timimg for the weekend - always enjoyable!

For anyone interested: The drawer pull is called a "Lauf-Streif-Kippleiste". About the, if not the simplest drawer slide you can make and a minimum requirement in finishing your apprenticeship as a Carpenter here.

Instead of the distributor block with threads I'd recommend using a simple barbed 3 way (brass) T-fitting for hoses. It's not only cheaper, but even more importantly there are no leaking threads, because there are non to seal in the first place. If the hoses are in the clamps on the wall, the piece is also easily held in place by them, no need to mount fitting itself to the wall.

amazing when one of your fav YouTubers lists off their fav channels and you have almost all of them on your subscriber list!!!!

I personally like to use soap and water in a spray bottle to check for air or gas leaks under pressure. I'm also finding I really like the new self-locking push-to-connect air fittings. I had a piece of air hose here while back that would not seal up, so I ordered some push-to-connect style fitting and hose.

You are probably busy with stuff, otherwise you would have made the drawer at least box jointed. We love you Marius, want to see more of you.

Sweet! I've done a couple of cabinets with drawers that didn't have drawer slide hardware. Have not looked for the laminated plywood here in the U.S.

Love the drawer solution! Phenolic-faced ply is way underutilised, there are loads of applications for it. UHMW strips too - I think they're very common in industry/process engineering, but I only ever see makers using the tape, or sometimes offcuts of chopping boards. Really low friction, really low wear, really cheap!

Happy to see you uploading again I so enjoy your videos! I totally cracked up when you cut off your exclaimation when kept closing the drawer all the way! LOL Thanks for the laugh!

Marius, Always good to see another video of yours is available to watch! Especially like the new compressor line run you showed us. AND the drawer slide build. I’m definitely going to look into that kind of wood but prices for wood here in the USA have gone crazy! So I’ll have to wait (a long long time).
You said Toolify was one video channel you like and watch most often. But his latest video was 4 years ago. Am I not looking at the right Toolify you mentioned?

There was a magician in the UK called Tommy Cooper, now sadly dead, whose standing gag was that his tricks never worked properly. I see some of his talent in you, Marius.
