On a more serious note, the only thing I worry about is that Lucasfilm takes the wrong lessons from this. It's not that we don't want different stories from other time periods, is that THIS story was bad. Please Lucasfilm...please be smart for once and see why this show actually failed. We want actual stories of the Jedi and Sith, not a teen drama show

Probably the most important thing Andor should have taught everyone is that, even if other Star Wars media doesn't have the tone or narrative direction as Andor, *THEY NEED ANDOR'S QUALITY OF WRITING!* Audiences don't want to be infantilized by inconsistent or low quality narratives.

If the they really wanted to do a Sith show, All they need to do was have competent writers adapt the Darth Plagueis novel.

They've gotta figure out how to make these shows without spending gobs and gobs of money. This isn't specifically an Acolyte or Star Wars problem, it's a streaming problem. The Acolyte might have been cancelled no matter what, but shows used to often get a season two to rework themselves and try to develop into something better and more popular. This is obviously a problem with a lot of movies too, but shows can be reworked much more easily, and can often go on strong. Things like The Office or Parks and Rec did that sort of thing very well, but were low budget and able to have more risks taken.

The main problem disney have is that your average Jane and Joe, now have a bad view of Marvel, Star Wars and Disney. The head honchos look at a tweet with 100k likes praising the acolye, and somehow think it translates to views. They need like 10+ good projects in a row, and even if they were to deliver, they'll go broke halfway there.
Star wars needs to go on a hiatus, but Disney can't let it happen bc they're cashcows barely given them money anymore, so they keep making trash content, but it's too late.
Let's hope the next people to have Star wars once they sell it trat it better.

The main problem I see in Disney, and Lucasfilms specifically, is that they think their main demographic is mainly straight white men, and that they need to appeal to other races and genders in order to expand. Star War is, and has always been, for all people of every gender and race. People like Leslie Headland seem to think they are at war with their own fanbase, when in reality, the only person standing in the way of success is themselves. They need to get out of the mindset that they need to fight for a message, and instead focus on developing a great narrative with relatable characters. Make characters whose stories may reach out to the people you want to connect with, then weave those stories into a greater storyline alongside other characters. That's why I think the original star wars was so great, because you could see the individual development of characters like Luke, Han and Leia, with that development proving related to the overall narrative.

Considering Leslie saying that the show was one season. I think the news pages calling it “canceled” is a little misleading.

There’s a big difference between the series being canceled, and a limited series, not being extended.
