I am a retired dentist. Here is my view. Mini implants can work well to stabilize full dentures and even plastic partial dentures. As in all implant cases the person has to have good dense bone in sufficient quantity, the case needs to be well designed to spread the biting load well. I have put a few crowns on mini implants. This was done when the patient did not want bone augmentation to fit a bigger diameter implant. So far, so good with those. Some of the mini implants I inserted did fail over time. These failures were when the forces were not applied down the long axis of the implant or when the bone quality was poor.

Sadly, for me my teeth started breaking when I was in my late 40's, and I ended up with dentures..I took excellent care of my teeth and it broke my heart to have to go down that route..I have been researching implants and like thousands of other ppl the cost is insane even with insurance..I would have to take out a mortgage in order to replace my dentures with implants just praying that in the near future they might become more affordable for everyday ppl like myself..

I would cry to have this I have dentures for 3yrs now it’s a temporary and I’m absolutely miserable I can’t eat smile I can barely keep them in my mouth I’m sad because I’ll never be able to afford this !!

they have a much higher risk of failure 23.2% vs 5-10% with standard impants..

Coudnt help but notice the gap on Dr Es bottom teeth....seems to me that a good dentists teeth should be his calling card and so if a Dentist is good he should have perfect teeth because everything is accesable to him but if not I would question

how is this more affordable?? if anything it sounds more expensive.. all of this just really grinds my gears.. and why does insurance not see PERMANENT TEETH as a necessity.. and say it's cosmetic..
