This is so bad for so many reasons. To start because it isnt cloned locally you have no way to actually interact with it and codespaces have limits

In the time it took you to move your hand off the keyboard I already opened a terminal and manually typed the clone command.

I bet you think git and github are the same thing XD

This is a horrible idea, who in their right mind would open a large project in a browser? IDEs take a lot of RAM, but browsers are so much extra stuff.
Besides, not all projects should be opened in vsc, especially not of its in c#, c++ or Java just to mention a few, where there are dedicated IDEs in existence for these code bases.
