Just got done my workout. It sucked during, but I'm glad I did it. Embrace the suck.

I honestly don't feel it should suck. It should be reasonably hard. But if it's too hard, I get demotivated. I need that balance. Yea. I'm not massive but I just appreciate getting stronger incrementally.

100% of every leg day, I feel like quitting my whole life.

I always tell myself that the days I don't want to do it are THE most important days to do it. Getting through difficulties and shit we don't feel like doing in life makes us stronger mentally and in this case physically

I understand what they are getting at, but there are a few things to note here. 1. For your average person it is far more important that you enjoy working out, that way you keep doing it. 2. There are some people who enjoy the shit out of working out and push themselves harder than anyone else around them. Exercise can be used as a form of self harm and people who use it that way look forward to it. I am personally part of the latter and I have to actively force myself to take recovery periods.

For real. I get nervous thinking about the weight, but excited at the same time. No better feeling than a you've finished.

I made much more progress when I started implementing more enjoyable lifts. I use to dread my Squat days due to how miserable and brutal the program was. So instead of normal squats I opted for using tires instead of weights on the bar. Good change of pace and helps the ego.

Going into your workout with a “this is gonna suck” mindset just never made sense to me

15 reps of squats? How about 5 sets of 5 reps or 6 reps instead?

So, in other words, I'm not crazy. This confirms and puts language to what I feel walking into my basement gym.

Honestly, I think workouts get "scarier" or more brutal the stronger you get. In the first 4-6 months of noob gains, it doesn't produce as much systemic fatigue because you just don't have that much muscle yet.

On my 5th year of no sports. Well accept mma…Dana white spits in their face and I love it.

Even knowing I'm going to hit my reps, I still get a rush of anxiety before squatting.

I don’t know guys, I like it. Feels great. Granted I’m not very strong sq. 250X5 bench 205 X 5 dead 325x5 etc.

It’s hard for me, but that’s why I love it.

The fact that it sucks is obviously not “the entire point.” You are enduring the suck in pursuit of health and strength. Pure masochism is stupid.

Hypertrophy doesn't care about how you feel, and yes i'm saying that it doesn't have to suck, there is no reason why it would have to suck. Stop feeding people lies.

Mark Twight says you should be a little bit scared of your workout.
