Lung cancer is a terrible example. There are other fields such as pathology, and they are able to examine cells from a lung biopsy and tell whether or not they are they type of cells caused by lung cancer. Perhaps in the interest of "doing no harm" it would be great to avoid speaking about lung cancer as though all we know is that there is a correlation between smoking and lung cancer. Much more is known than that, so this example is not only misleading but may also do harm if viewers use this example in their decision-making for health behaviors.
