Monoprice Mini V2 upgrade

Hi everybody, I am preparing a video on upgrading my Monoprice Mini V2 with Marlin, Linear Advance, Touch Screen ect.

I will keep the look of the mini, make available my 3D files for installing the screen, Marlin configurations, touch screen upgrade how to, and do videos about the whole process.

And also keep the cost down.

I am researching also a wifi option with a NodeMCU board and ESP3D software, or the wifi module for the MKS TFT 2.4

I expect to improve the print quality with Linear Advance.

I do not like the Mini interface, it’s too simple and the rotary encoder is hard to use, but I do not want a Frankenstein printer, I also like the look and footprint of the mini.

So I hope to make it usable on wifi and reuse my Raspberry Pi for something else.

It seems everybody hates the round navigation knob and the "not touch-screen" on the V2 except me! hahaha anyhow can't wait to hear about your upgrades :)

I know this doesn't really apply to this video but based on many of your other videos about the MP select mini I think you might be the person who can help. I was gifted a slightly used one a month ago in Dec 2022 (my first 3D printer) and I've recently started getting failed prints. Up to now I've gone through about 2kg with of PLA with absolutley no issues. Prints now randomly failing, usually with around 5% left to print. Bed and hotend stay hot and keep displaying temps but all movement stops. Fans keep running and hotend just sits in place and print never ends. If I pause the print there is a LONG delay (like 3-4 minutes) and then I get "sensor failed" error but no codes to tell me which sensor. If I immediately go into the menu I can manually job all axis with no problem. Suspected gcode issues but tried multiple slicers and same issue. Might print 2 files fine and then out of nowhere the 3rd print fails and almost always near the very end of the print. Zero response from monoprice support. I'm cool with replacing parts but need to know which part to start with. I suspect hotend thermister but don't want to just toss parts at a problem.

Any ideas?
