Lyanna didn't name Jon. GRRM has confirmed that Jon was named by Ned. He was named him after Jon Arryn. Lyanna and Rhaegar must obviously have chosen some other name for him.

I still believe in the story foreshadowing of the direwolves names as we get closer to the end:
Robb was a Grey Wind that blew from the north,
Rickon was a young Shaggy Dog
Sansa is now a Lady
John is a Ghost, having come back from the dead
Arya has travelled the world like Nymeria (and it will probably be Gendry who brings her humanity back and who helps her stop travelling i.e. burn the ships... and maybe together they rule?!??)
and Bran will bring the summer

Does anyone else think the actor that played Lyanna looks like Dany (Emilia Clarke)? I know that the show is going the route of R+L=J, but is it just me or does she look really similar?

Now that Daenerys has made alliances with both Dorne, the Greyjoys and the Tyrells, her army must be huge? She already has around 8.000 unsullied and 40.000 Dothraki riders. Cersei should definitely be worried.

Love your videos Charlie! At 3:41, you say Jon never met any Targaryens but he did meet and know the Maester of Castle Black (RIP Aemon Targaryen)...I'm fully aware that you know this by the way and figured you were trying to just fit as much info as possible in a short time frame so it just came out. One of the main reasons I bring this up is because the relationship that Jon had with Maester Aemon may actually make the difference between Jon deciding whether or not to even consider joining forces with Danny in the future, so it may turn out to be very significant. Anyway, you are awesome, keep up the amazing work!!

I don't buy it that Lyanna named him Jon on his birth. That was a name Ned gave him, to honor his friend and mentor, Jon Arryn. Lyanna had no connection to Jon Arryn, so there was no reason for her to name him as such, it'd be unusual for her.
I think Lyanna gave him a Valyrian name, possibly a one which Rhaegar told her to name him, and because that name would of course draw immediate suspicion to the boy and get him killed by Robert, Ned named him Jon, to draw suspicion away.
It helps that Robert was also mentored by and friends with Jon Arryn, because naming the child "Jon" would please him too. Best way to draw suspicion away.

Season 7 reveal: Benjen "Cold Hands" Stark was actually sent by the White Walkers to lead Bran to the wall because that's how they can get past the wall's magic. He was't spared by the Children of the Forrest he was spared by the Night's King to have someone who can be trusted.
