How to Change Engine Oil and Filter on a 2019 Toyota Camry 2.5L engine - Reset Oil Life Indicator

Today we change the engine oil and filter and reset the oil life indicator on the 2019 Toyota Camry 2.5L engine. This is the 4-cylinder engine and should be the same from 2018-2021 models.

The 2019 Toyota Camry 2.5L engine oil capacity is 4.80 quarts. Full Synthetic OW-16 oil is recommended.
You can extend Your engine life, get better gas mileage, and have better performance if You change your oil regularly. Routine oil and filter changes help remove particles and sludge from the engine. If the oil isn't changed, Your vehicle's engine will start to have a lot of problems. Over time the oil will become thinner, abrasive, and will start to wear down on vital engine parts. Synthetic oil is by far better for performance. It protects the engine due to lower levels of friction.

So let's go over the tools and parts needed…
4.80 quarts of 0W-16 full synthetic oil... Oil Filter... Oil Pan and funnel...
10mm socket for plastic pan cover... 14mm socket for the oil drain plug...
Oil Filter Adjustable Pliers... A torque wrench for the oil plug… (30FT LBS)
Mechanics gloves... and Some hand cleaner...

I leave the bottom plastic cover off till I let the car run and then check for leaks, if filter and plug are good then replace cover.

I like how you said to tighten the oil drain plug to 30 ft pounds. If you strip that oil plug to tight, you have to replace the entire oil pan.

Please be careful tightening that oil filter with a filter wrench. You can crush the can which will leak oil. I would invest in a strap wrench instead. You may need different sizes if you have multiple vehicles but it’s much more forgiving if you squeeze too hard.
