Ummm I’m sorry sir... but that may have been the most helpful car repair video I have ever watched. I’m pretty sure this is exactly my issue and I will be giving this a go myself. Thank you!

hi Scotty, your videos are a life and money saver! I have transmission fluid leaking from the scenario you recreated here, so my worry level went down in an instant. I have a 2009 Chevy Malibu and they don't even have a transmission dipstick to check the fluid level! thanks for all the videos!

That was aLOT easier than I thought it might be. Its good that those seals are so accessible on that transaxle. Thanks for the vid scotty! you sure make scary sounding jobs seem easy.

Hi Scotty. I had my f axle shaft, cv axle on R front replaced on june 2022 for a 03 hyundai elantra. Question : should the seal been included in that work ?
Because i now have a R cv seal leak ..8 months later .

I wish we had you as our mechanic. My grandmother just bought an 01' Honda Accord, which has an expired recall for the transmission, and she's had so many issues with it. The car lot she bought it from is taking care of her because I know the owner but they've put in three rebuilt transmissions and each transmission only lasted about a week. Then after the third one it started having issues again and they said it was a bad sensor.

So they replaced that and then a week later it started having issues again, then they said it was the plug the sensor went into that went bad. So they replaced that and now its back in the shop again after I noticed it was leaking. I checked the oil and it was fine so I was sure it was the transmission fluid, only I couldn't confirm because I couldn't find a way to check the transmission fluid levels.

She was driving it the other day and it started having issues getting going from a stop, then the check engine light came on. She shut it off and waited a few min and turned it back on and the light went off and the car drove fine the rest of the way home. They said they would get her in another car if they couldn't fix it this time, though I would think by now they'd just take it to a Honda Dealership since their mechanic can't seem to fix it.

A lot of times when I put seals in I'll use the end of a 2x4 or 2x2 to strike with the hammer. The wood is more forgiving and I can bridge all the way across the seal and drive in both sides at the same time leaving less chance of deforming or ruining the seal.On RWD transmissions there is an output shaft that sticks out beyond the seal. For those I take a hole saw and cut a hole in the flat side of the 2x4 big enough for the shaft to fit through.

I guess I should have replaced that seal when I replaced the CV axle today along with the wheel bearing hub assembly on my 1982 Chevy Citation cuz now it's leaking at the transmission. ugh 😩
But hey at least this 3rd time around it should be a breeze since, I've taken that wheel bearing hub off and put it back on multiple times, at least I know what I'm doing now. 😂

scotty im in a predicament...with my girl at motel and my toyota tundra 2001 truck I havent had long will not move. i had checked fluid and thought it needed fluid. I use my truck every day for work ...its how I make my living and how were in a motel now.
It wont move. Scotty I get on it pretty hard bcus everything I do is rush rush...traveling hundreds of miles a day of stops, turns et cetera. It was after putting the fluid in and driving several miles back to motel that it made like a steady hum sound for two maybe three seconds. We barely coasted into the parking lot. I
I waited half hour for it to cool before checking the fluid level again, on the stick, it was a good half inch to 5/8 further than it should have been for being cold.
on top of this the overdrive light when on I thought was engaged, so when I wanted to pass someone on the road, I would push it.
But its when the lights not showing that it is engaged. we have to be out by noon unless I work in the morning.
Did I mess transmisson up??? I cant be without my ride Scotty, I'll lose everything.
Doe's or can over-filling the fluid make it slip or not move??? Have I blown a seal??
What can I do that will make my truck move. will draining the amount of fluid I put in make it go back to moving.

HELLO. SCOTTY....
DESPERATE..
WHAT CAN I DO???
Have lil money and not much time.
IS THERE A SOLUTION ????
drain a lil fluid? bcus it was ok before that?

You make it look so easy. But, I don't see any evidence of a transmission fluid leak. There's no cross contamination with the coolant either. So, what's happening to my fluid? (2002 Mustang GT).

Doesnt that grease mix with the trans fluid? If so doesnt that contaminate the fluid?
