i bought a hybrid to not hyper mile...
My tips to drive a hybrid fast:

-Switch to normal mode, use ECO mode only in traffic and parking lots
-Smash the gas pedal to get up to speed, and release the paddle enough to keep the desired speed
-Always drive in SPORT MODE on high ways, when driving at the speed limit the car will recharge the battery fast
-Only over take when the battery is full, this way you get max power
-When approaching a tight turn, shift to B And lightly break for max regen, you need all the battery to quickly accelerate out of a turn
-Turn off TCC, your hybrid has a battery in the back, it can do scandy flicks without a hand break (only if you know how to do them)

"You don't have to be a hyper miler to get great mileage from your hybrid" as the video promptly teaches us how to hyper mile

I replaced my 2007 Highlander Hybrid with a 2017 Highlander Hybrid, and I've been using these techniques for many years. To my pleasant surprise I'm consistently getting 10-15% BETTER mileage than the car's EPA estimates! With my 2007 I never a once got a tankful at more than 30.0 MPG. But with this car I haven't gotten a tankful BELOW 30 MPG yet! I'm routinely getting 31-32 MPG, well above the EPA estimates.

Please bring back the Remote Connect options for the 2020 Prius Prime!!! I can’t believe I just bought one and find out you took these features away! Specifically I want the remote charge and remote A/c options back!

One information : to change D to B does one need to press the brake ? changing back to D needs to apply the break first?

I don't know if I am driving it wrong but so far is consuming more gas than my regular gas I drive 60 Miles to go to work and full tank only last like 4 trips in order for me to add more gas . I am not happy and I just do under 65 on the interstate.

Auris MY15 Euro - best mpg 65.7 mpg or 3.58 l/100 km - how? 100% Eco Mode,
always use the battery between 40% and 80%,
always keep the needle at the half of the first eco section (on electricity or gas)
always park your car with 40% battery life
if there's a lot of accelerating and braking involved, use the battery between 80% and 90%.

Hey Toyota, My name is Marcos. I'm a Brazilian and a big fan of your vehicles. I wish to be your 'Guinea Pig' customer for your next generation of the hybrid technology vehicles.

I live 30 kilometers away from work, between highways and urban roads (Sao Paulo traffic jam), which makes a total of 60 kilometers per day. This would be quite an opportunity for the company to test the efficiency of Toyotas hybrid powetrains in the most heaviest daily test ever made.

Therefore, I would gladly take this opportunity to be the very first civilian 'tester', in Brazil, of any future project of Toyota's vehicles.

Regards

Marcos Silva

I just bought my Prius. yes, seems to piss other drivers off, I'm not supposed to use my heat and AC, cruise eats mileage too, have to put all my concentration into the special way to drive and not lose focus for a second, which pisses ME off. lol. If I just relax and drive it like a non hybrid, I dont know if Id get over 35 mpg. my old Escort gets that no matter how I drive, 80 mph with AC on and I'm totally relaxed driving it. Paid $500 for the Escort with new tires! $5500 for the Prius that I can't figure out how to really relax in (yet)!

So where's the part about pulling immediately into the left lane, and going 15 below the speed limit? Is it in the owner's manual?

Can you switch eco mode while driving? Or has to be on parking gear?

Is better use eco mode all time include highway?

it amazing what Toyota hybrid can do. My prius is suppose to average 50mpg, but I can easily get over 100mpg in the summer. Highest I have got his 117Mpg. Some people have got well over 150mpg. Very happy with mine, I will buy one again.

Pulse and Glide is described in the wrong way. Some instructions in the video are the opposite of saving fuel. You have to accelerate with the engine, not with the electric motor. From stop this is a relatively strong acceleration. Then you can coast electric only. Taking off slowly just wastes the valuable electric energy in the battery, instead of using the engine directly.
The dedicated EV-Mode accessed through the EV-Button is for short drives around the block only and is a comfort feature, not a fuel saving feature.
